Position Overview

As a Business Development Manager at Westlake Commercial, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth while inspiring and guiding store teams. Your primary objective will be to cultivate a sales-oriented culture that fosters sustainable and repeatable sales to our business clientele.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement
  • Identify and pursue commercial sales opportunities with businesses and multifamily property management clients, collaborating with the Director of Commercial Business and store management.
  • Enhance sales with established commercial accounts through relationship-driven sales strategies, leveraging data and shopping patterns.
  • Exercise discretion in establishing special pricing and tailored solutions within set guidelines.
  • Target new commercial customer segments that demonstrate significant growth potential.
  • Work alongside local teams to develop and nurture commercial accounts through marketing initiatives, events, and personalized service.
  • Represent the company at local trade shows and client meetings.
Team Collaboration
  • Serve as a liaison between commercial clients and store personnel, including General Managers and sales associates.
  • Coach and train store teams on effective business customer engagement and B2B sales fundamentals.
  • Support store leadership in fostering a culture that prioritizes commercial sales growth.
  • Partner with store management to ensure B2B product needs are met promptly.
  • Engage in additional duties and special projects as required.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, relationship management, and business fundamentals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Proven ability to motivate teams and foster collaboration.
  • Experience in delivering training across various levels within the organization.
  • Ability to analyze the competitive landscape and develop effective B2B strategies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and various operating systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage flexible hours.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50lbs), and climb as required.
