Position Overview

As a Business Development Manager within Westlake Commercial (the Commercial Division of Westlake Hardware), your primary objective will be to drive sales growth while inspiring and guiding store teams through exemplary leadership. You will be instrumental in fostering a sales-oriented culture that promotes sustainable and repeatable business practices among our commercial clientele.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement
  • Identify and pursue commercial sales opportunities with businesses and multifamily property management clients, collaborating with the Director of Commercial Business, District Manager, and store personnel.
  • Enhance sales with established commercial accounts through relationship-driven sales techniques, leveraging data and shopping patterns to optimize growth.
  • Exercise discretion in establishing special pricing and custom solutions within defined parameters.
  • Target new commercial customer opportunities that align with market potential for significant growth.
  • Work closely with local teams to cultivate new and existing commercial accounts through marketing initiatives, events, and tailored merchandise selections.
  • Participate in local trade shows and client-sponsored events to enhance business relationships.
Team Collaboration
  • Serve as a liaison between commercial customers and store teams, including General Managers and sales associates.
  • Coach and train store teams on effective business customer interactions and B2B sales principles.
  • Support store leadership in fostering a culture that embraces commercial sales growth, partnering with store GMs and B2B Champions.
  • Collaborate with store staff to ensure timely fulfillment of B2B product needs and customer demands.
  • Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Proven ability to foster teamwork and motivate others.
  • Experience in delivering training across various levels within the store.
  • Ability to analyze the competitive landscape and develop effective B2B strategies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to flexible hours.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 50lbs), and climb as required.
