YOUR CONTRIBUTION

  • Royal Engineers & Consultants, LLC (Royal) is seeking a Coastal Environmental Specialist to enhance our capabilities. Royal is recognized as a frontrunner in Louisiana's ecosystem restoration, risk mitigation, and coastal planning initiatives. Our current portfolio includes a variety of coastal endeavors, such as restoration and protection master planning, feasibility studies, analytical assessments, and preliminary engineering and design projects.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead project management for both administrative and technical aspects of initiatives.
  • Manage and analyze environmental data (e.g., water quality, biodiversity, land degradation) pertinent to the effectiveness of coastal restoration efforts.
  • Strategically prioritize and rank restoration and protection projects for local, state, and federal planning efforts.
  • Develop environmental assessments, restoration strategies, and compliance documentation for relevant projects.
  • Support coastal planning activities that pertain to restoration, protection, resilience, and resource management for various clients.
  • Conduct research on wetlands, endangered species, habitat requirements, cultural resources, and water quality.
  • Interpret findings based on scientific literature, data, and established knowledge.
  • Prepare reports, maps, work plans, presentations, and official correspondence.
  • Assist in crafting proposals for funding coastal initiatives.
  • Provide support for Disaster Recovery services as necessary, particularly in regions where operations affect wetlands.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • A Master's degree in Coastal or Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or a related scientific field. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of the Master's degree.

Experience

  • A minimum of two years of experience in the coastal and/or environmental sector. Candidates with additional experience may qualify for more advanced roles.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in managing and analyzing environmental data.
  • In-depth knowledge of coastal wetland ecology.
  • Familiarity with computer modeling and digital mapping as they relate to planning and scientific applications.
  • Understanding of GIS technology.
  • Willingness to acquire new skills and engage in diverse projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to supervise project team members effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Efficient project management skills, ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software.
