Childcare Support Specialist

At Next Horizons, we are seeking enthusiastic, playful, and nurturing individuals to engage with children aged 0-5 years. In this role, you will collaborate with lead educators to supervise children and help create a clean, safe, and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Our center emphasizes the social-emotional growth of young children and promotes healthy interactions among peers and between children and adults. You should be outgoing and willing to embrace a playful spirit with the children. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around creating a fun and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in executing curriculum activities and motivate children to participate.
- Actively participate in activities; ensure cleanliness, upkeep, and accessibility of classroom materials.
- Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions and progress updates.
- Promote self-sufficiency and good hygiene through positive behavior modeling.
- Facilitate smooth daily transitions from home to the childcare center.
- Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
- Develop and maintain a personal professional growth plan to ensure ongoing quality improvement.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 1-2 years of professional experience in childcare (preferred but not mandatory).
- High energy and enthusiasm.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with basic computer proficiency.
- Understanding of child development principles.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (not required).
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and health screening (proof of a negative TB test).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to frequently walk, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, and communicate with individuals at various levels. May also require kneeling, bending, squatting, or crawling.
- Specific vision abilities are necessary, including the ability to see close and at a distance, perceive colors, and have peripheral vision and depth perception.
Wage Range and Benefits:
- $13 - $15/hour.
