Job Title: Childcare Support Specialist
Job Type: Part time/Full time

At Next Horizons, we are seeking enthusiastic, playful, and nurturing individuals to engage with children aged 0-5 years. In this role, you will collaborate with lead educators to supervise children and help create a clean, safe, and enjoyable learning atmosphere. Our center emphasizes the social-emotional growth of young children and promotes healthy interactions among peers and between children and adults. You should be outgoing and willing to embrace a playful spirit with the children. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around creating a fun and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in executing curriculum activities and motivate children to participate.
  • Actively participate in activities; ensure cleanliness, upkeep, and accessibility of classroom materials.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions and progress updates.
  • Promote self-sufficiency and good hygiene through positive behavior modeling.
  • Facilitate smooth daily transitions from home to the childcare center.
  • Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a personal professional growth plan to ensure ongoing quality improvement.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in childcare (preferred but not mandatory).
  • High energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with basic computer proficiency.
  • Understanding of child development principles.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (not required).
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and health screening (proof of a negative TB test).

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to frequently walk, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, and communicate with individuals at various levels. May also require kneeling, bending, squatting, or crawling.
  • Specific vision abilities are necessary, including the ability to see close and at a distance, perceive colors, and have peripheral vision and depth perception.

Wage Range and Benefits:
  • $13 - $15/hour.
