Location

This position requires on-site presence at our operational facility, adhering to a standard Monday through Friday schedule. Flexibility for occasional overtime, including weekend work for scheduled maintenance and emergency responses, is expected.

Primary Purpose of Position

The role encompasses the operation and maintenance of our facility, which includes:

  • Electric Transmission & Distribution Systems
  • Steam & Chilled Water Distribution Systems
  • Gas Turbine Central Steam Facility
  • Central Chilled Water Facility
  • Wastewater Treatment Facility
  • Site Fire Alarm Systems
  • Energy Metering Systems

These activities are conducted with a focus on safety, reliability, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess familiarity with the management and operations of large-scale facilities and utility systems. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively are essential. Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as an engineering liaison for projects within cogeneration and chilled water plants, as well as energy distribution systems.
  • Participating in the review and implementation of safety protocols, ensuring adherence to operational safety standards.
  • Collaborating with utility plant supervisors on routine maintenance and necessary repairs to optimize plant performance.
  • Assisting in planned maintenance activities for equipment within utility plants.
  • Conducting field investigations and troubleshooting for assigned projects.
  • Performing inspections of site infrastructure and equipment.
  • Monitoring and reporting on plant efficiency metrics for steam, electric, and chilled water production.
  • Analyzing the technical and economic viability of plant improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities, or Marine Engineering, along with a minimum of three years of experience in facilities operations and utilities management.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of Medium Voltage Systems and their maintenance.
  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of chillers, cooling towers, high-pressure boilers, pumps, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret utility drawings and technical schematics.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have experience with maintenance management software, project coordination with regulatory agencies, and familiarity with building automation systems. Additional skills in AutoCAD and certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Professional Engineer (PE) are advantageous.

Additional Information

The role may involve physical activities such as standing, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs, as well as working in various environmental conditions. Participation in safety and health compliance is mandatory, including emergency preparedness and maintenance of process systems. Occasional travel may be required for training and meetings.
