Youth Support Clinician

Position Overview
The Youth Support Clinician plays a crucial role in assisting children and families during and following their participation in a Children's Crisis Respite program. This position involves delivering family therapy throughout the duration of the stay and for a period of up to 90 days post-discharge. The clinician will also facilitate support groups, connect families with necessary services, and provide caregiver skills training. Schedules are designed to meet the needs of clients, the department, and the organization, with weekend and evening shifts being common. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical evaluations and maintain accurate documentation.
- Engage in the formulation and execution of treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the Crisis Respite Clinician, serving as the lead treatment team member during youth stays.
- Deliver family therapy both during the youth's stay and after discharge.
- Provide individual therapy sessions during the youth's stay and post-discharge.
- Offer therapeutic support during youth crises.
- Coordinate with all relevant individuals and agencies involved with the youth, including participation in inter- and intra-agency meetings.
- Share pertinent treatment and casework information with respite staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Licensed in Social Work or another mental health profession in New York State.
- Commitment to maintaining professional standards, including identifying areas for further training and discussing these needs with supervisors.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effectively manage the documentation requirements of the role within established timelines.
- Foster productive and professional relationships with all agency personnel, children, parents, and the community.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards and conduct.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.
Essential Job Qualifications:
- Ability to lift a specified weight without assistance.
- Capability to provide crisis de-escalation techniques.
- Ability to sit, squat, crouch, and stand for extended periods.
- Capacity to reach overhead with arms.
- Ability to navigate stairs multiple times throughout the day.
