Position Overview:
The After Stay Clinician plays a crucial role in assisting youth and their families during and following their time in a Children's Crisis Respite program. This position emphasizes the provision of family therapy throughout the duration of the stay and for a period of up to 90 days post-discharge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Engage in the formulation and execution of individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Crisis Respite Clinician, serving as the lead treatment team member during youth stays.
  • Deliver family therapy both during the youth's stay and after their discharge.
  • Provide individual therapy sessions throughout the youth's stay and following discharge.
  • Offer therapeutic support during youth crises.
  • Network with all relevant individuals and agencies associated with the youth, participating in inter- and intra-agency meetings.
  • Communicate pertinent treatment and casework information to respite staff.

Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed in Social Work or another mental health profession in New York State.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional standing in the field, including identifying areas for further training and discussing these needs with supervisors.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effectively manage the administrative responsibilities of the role within established timeframes.
  • Foster productive and professional relationships with all agency staff, children, parents, and the community.
  • Adhere to the highest ethical standards and conduct.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and demonstrate regular, timely attendance.

Essential Job Qualifications:
  • Ability to lift a specified weight without assistance.
  • Proficient in crisis de-escalation techniques.
  • Capability to sit, squat, crouch, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to reach overhead and navigate stairs multiple times throughout the day.
