About the Role

Coordinated Care Services, Inc. (CCSI) is seeking a highly skilled Youth/Young Adult Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing direct support to youth of transition age who are navigating the mental health system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Peer Support Services: Provide one-on-one peer support to youth of transition age, using your lived experience to engage them in formal behavioral health services and other recovery support services.
  • Network Development: Work to build a network of credentialed youth peer support providers in Onondaga County, ensuring that youth have access to qualified support.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Partner with families, youth, and other stakeholders to complete assessments, explore natural supports, and identify solutions to complex challenges.
  • Education and Training: Educate youth, young adults, and families on mental health resources and community services, and provide referrals to support services.
  • Community Engagement: Take the lead in community presentations, design and run youth/young adult support groups, and conduct community-wide training in youth-guided and youth-driven care.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Associate degree in human services or a related field, plus 2 years of experience providing services to youth of transition age, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Additional Requirements: Satisfactory completion of all required background screenings and a valid driver's license.
