Purpose:

As a key member of the Power Networks team, you will play a vital role in supporting Substation and Transmission projects, focusing on electrical protection and control activities for our clients and their customers.


Responsibilities:

Your duties will include:

  • Executing complex protection and control project assignments independently, applicable to both existing and new projects for various clients.
  • Creating engineering drawings, documents, calculations, and other necessary deliverables.
  • Overseeing and coordinating the work of other engineers, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Adhering to project procedures, applicable codes, and standards, while maintaining schedule and budget.
  • Effectively communicating technical issues with project personnel and external clients.
  • Conducting independent audits and reviews of technical work.
  • Preparing proposals, estimating project costs, and contributing to scope documents and client presentations.
  • Leading a team capable of resolving complex challenges and ensuring the quality of deliverables.
  • Collaborating in a team-oriented environment while being able to work independently when required.
  • Interfacing with other departmental staff, project management, and external clients.
  • Traveling to job sites for site assessments as necessary.
  • Ensuring the quality assurance of documents to meet applicable drawing standards and managing document procedures effectively.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States.
  • Experience in a project leadership role.
  • Extensive background in protection and control engineering for switchyards and substations, including supervisory experience with high voltage stations.
  • Experience in project cost estimation and proposal writing.
  • A solid understanding of regulations, electrical codes, manufacturing standards, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including MS Office Suite.
  • Self-motivation, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with senior engineers and designers.
