Position Overview:
In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in advancing our Transportation Division and fortifying the Structures Department through your technical knowledge and innovative approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage significant transportation structure projects at local and regional levels.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to engineering personnel.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including roadway, traffic, and planning professionals.
- Develop project scopes and schedules while monitoring budgets.
- Conduct and verify complex structural analysis and design calculations, including geometric layouts.
- Manage structural tasks throughout project development, ensuring quality in plan and report production.
- Engage in professional industry organizations and networks.
- Travel as necessary for project requirements, up to 25%.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in transportation and bridge project management along with structural engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is highly desirable, along with a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain it within six months; SE is preferred.
- Proven track record in developing client relationships.
- Familiarity with relevant design manuals, procedures, and standards.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, AISC, ACI, and other applicable North American design codes.
- Demonstrated ability to design various bridge types in both concrete and steel.
- Strong understanding of staged construction analysis and proficiency in structural engineering software such as MDX, Con-Span, RC-Pier, and STAAD.
- Experience with engineering design software like MicroStation and AutoCAD.
