Mk7 Reentry Systems Engineering Lead

The Mk7 Reentry Systems Engineering Lead will oversee a dedicated team of systems engineers, ensuring effective technical oversight, strategic planning, risk assessment, resource allocation, and staffing for the specialized Reentry W93/Mk7 Systems Engineering group within the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Reentry Systems Engineering sector.
As the Mk7 Reentry Systems Engineering Lead, your responsibilities will include:
- Directing the W93/Mk7 Systems Engineering team under the guidance of the Mk7 Program Manager and W93/Mk7 Chief Systems Engineer.
- Assuming additional responsibilities for Reentry Systems Engineering Integration & Services, conducting Reentry Independent Review Boards, managing Reentry Requirements / Verification, and overseeing Risk and Opportunity management, as well as Reentry Interfaces.
- Reporting to the Senior Manager for Reentry Systems Engineering & Design.
This role may require travel between various operational sites.
Key Qualifications
- Proven understanding of the FBM program and Trident II (D5) Reentry System.
- Familiarity with the Navy SSP Reentry customer.
- Over 10 years of comprehensive experience, including a minimum of 2 years in engineering leadership roles and 5 years applying System Engineering methodologies.
- Experience in supporting or leading technical investigations.
- Expertise in technical system requirements.
- Proficient in requirements creation, management, bi-directional traceability, and verification planning & execution.
- Ability to strategically plan and translate strategies into actionable daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
- Experience in electronics, software, and/or mechanical design.
- Demonstrated capability in leading significant problem investigations and root cause analysis efforts.
- Skill in motivating and energizing a team effectively.
- Experience in generating Basis-Of Estimates (BOEs) and providing proposal support.
- Cost Account Management (CAM) certification.
- Track record of successful customer coordination and collaboration.
- Experience utilizing IBM rational tools.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes.
- Knowledge of Weapon Specifications.
