Job Overview

The Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment team is seeking a highly skilled Associate, Entertainment Finance to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in preparing, refining, and tracking event financials for various HBSE properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and prepare event proformas, budgets, and forecasts to ensure accurate financial planning and execution.
  • Prepare post-event flash reports and P&L statements to provide timely financial insights and analysis.
  • Reconcile flash reports with general accounting ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain master show files, including all essential event reports and relevant correspondence.
  • Assess the financial impact of events and provide financial and analytical recommendations to the Senior Manager of Entertainment Finance.
  • Identify and evaluate potential opportunities for events, including revenue maximization and optimization, and risk factors, as well as mitigation solutions.
  • Develop ad hoc financial models and analyses as needed to support business decisions.
  • Attend arena events and assist with Prudential Center event settlements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an analytical/finance role, preferably in the live sports and entertainment industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and advanced working knowledge of Excel.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial analysis and ability to assess and communicate strategic implications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage in various communicative modes and be attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
  • Ability to persuade others, build consensus, and work in a team environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to interact, develop, and maintain relationships with individuals at all levels, both internal and external.
  • Flexibility to work late hours, holidays, and weekends as needed.
