Position Overview

Role Summary

This role is integral to the financial aid department, reporting directly to the Associate Director of Financial Aid. The primary responsibility involves managing the financial aid program by evaluating applications, conducting need assessments, determining eligibility, and allocating financial aid resources in compliance with federal and institutional regulations.

Educational Requirements

Minimum qualification includes an Associate's degree.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required.

Additional Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree with one year of experience in financial aid administration, or an Associate's degree combined with three years of experience.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Education policies and procedures related to federal aid programs and need analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with computerized financial aid record systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial aid packages.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is essential.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Review Aid Applications and Develop Financial Aid Offers
  • Assess financial aid applications for accuracy and completeness.
  • Make necessary corrections and perform verification.
  • Confirm eligibility for financial aid.
  • Develop comprehensive financial aid offers, including federal, state, and institutional aid, utilizing professional judgment and knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Monitor student progress to ensure compliance with aid reinstatement criteria.
2. Reporting and Compliance
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of federal loan accounts.
  • Assist in the annual audit of awards and maintain accurate records of scholarships and financial aid disbursed in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Prepare periodic reports as required.
3. Financial Aid Counseling
  • Provide guidance to students and parents regarding the financial aid process, eligibility criteria, and relevant regulations.
  • Respond to inquiries related to policy interpretation and award decisions.
4. Additional Responsibilities
  • Engage in campus events such as Open Houses and New Student Orientation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
