Position Title: Senior Cybersecurity Analytics Architect

Location: Remote


Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with business units to develop a comprehensive vision for tools necessary to effectively monitor dark web activities and other data sources, ensuring the protection of the organization and its clients from potential threats.
  • Establish a clear set of metrics, reports, and alerts that align with the vision while being technically feasible based on available data and modeling capabilities.
  • Clearly define the business objectives for each metric and report, including the methodology for calculating these metrics from existing data.
  • Translate high-level business goals into actionable analytics requirements, leveraging industry best practices to determine necessary analytics and their construction.
  • Adopt the perspective of a Chief Risk Officer to design an analytics framework that identifies and mitigates critical security threats.
  • Effectively communicate this framework in both business terminology and technical specifications, guiding engineering teams in its development and implementation.

Essential Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles and risk management strategies.
  • Proficient in metrics commonly utilized in cybersecurity and fraud analytics.
  • Familiarity with dark web intelligence tools, techniques, and sources.
  • Knowledge of tactics, techniques, and procedures employed by cybercriminals and threat actors operating on the dark web.
  • Expertise in statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling techniques for analyzing large datasets to identify security threats.
  • Awareness of specific cybersecurity requirements and regulatory standards applicable to financial institutions.
  • Understanding of cloud engineering and the development of data preparation and analytics pipelines.

  • Effective Communicator: Must possess the ability to ask insightful questions to uncover the true needs of business stakeholders and articulate the feasibility of solutions based on data and technology resources. Leading design discussions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is crucial.
  • Analytical Thinker: Ability to deconstruct business challenges into logical components and align them with available technical solutions. Must comprehend the interconnections between various client requests and how they contribute to an overall solution from both business and technical perspectives.
  • Proficient in organizing and planning work involving complex interdependencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience in data analytics, focusing on security threat detection, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting dark web data to identify potential security threats.
  • 5-7 years of experience leading a team of data analysts or engineers, with a proven track record of managing and mentoring team members, delegating tasks effectively, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • 5+ years in data and analytics engineering.
