Your Contribution:

Jacobs is on the lookout for a Senior Cybersecurity Authorization Specialist to oversee a critical contract role. In this position, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to the Authorization and Assessment process in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for both new and existing information systems. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with Authority to Operate standards for all designated systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in determining comprehensive security requirements to safeguard data, ensuring the implementation of suitable information security measures. Conduct and evaluate security risk assessments, risk analyses, and the overall risk management process, including security control assessments and awareness initiatives for systems and network operations.
  • Support the integration of Cybersecurity functions within the configuration management framework.
  • Engage with clients, IT personnel, and senior corporate executives to define and meet essential Cybersecurity goals for the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of security architecture.
  • Facilitate the integration of legacy systems and contribute to the acquisition and RDT&E environments, embedding Cybersecurity into systems utilized in operational settings.
  • Draft and prepare security authorization documentation.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in roles such as IT Risk Assessor, System Security Engineer, Information Systems Security Manager, or Designated Authorizing Official.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Alternatively, an additional four (4) years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree, totaling twelve (12) years of experience.
  • Possession of a DoD compliant IAM Level III certification, such as GSLC, CISM, or CISSP (or associate level).
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance and a current full-scope polygraph.
  • Proficient knowledge in areas including system security design processes, defense-in-depth strategies, engineering life cycles, information domains, cross-domain solutions, controlled interfaces, identification, authentication, authorization, system integration, ICD 503, risk management, intrusion detection, contingency planning, incident response, configuration control, change management, auditing, security authorization processes, and fundamental Cybersecurity principles (confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, availability, access control, and security testing).

Essential Skills:

  • Evaluate Cybersecurity measures integrated into systems intended for operational deployment.
  • Prepare risk assessments, action plans, authorization recommendations, and related security authorization documentation.
  • Identify and support overarching security requirements for data protection, ensuring the execution of information security policies and controls.
  • Ensure Cybersecurity considerations are incorporated into the development and risk management processes, particularly those focused on infrastructure protection and defensive IT strategies.
  • Facilitate collaboration with clients, IT staff, and senior corporate leaders to define and achieve necessary risk management objectives for the organization.
  • Support the integration of legacy systems within the respective IT environment.
