Senior Cybersecurity Authorizing Official

Your Contribution:

Jacobs is in search of a Senior Cybersecurity Authorizing Official (DAO 3) to oversee a prime contract from our Columbia, MD office. In this role, you will be integral to a team responsible for the Authorization and Assessment process under the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for both new and existing information systems, ensuring compliance with Authority to Operate for all designated systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in determining comprehensive security requirements for data protection, ensuring the application of suitable information security controls, and conducting thorough security risk assessments, risk analyses, and security control evaluations.
  • Support the inclusion of Cybersecurity functions within the configuration management process.
  • Engage with clients, IT personnel, and senior corporate executives to define and achieve necessary Cybersecurity goals for the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of security architecture.
  • Assist in the integration of legacy systems and contribute to the acquisition and RDT&E environment, embedding Cybersecurity into systems deployed in operational contexts.
  • Prepare necessary security authorization documentation.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in roles such as IT Risk Assessor, System Security Engineer, Information Systems Security Manager, or DAO.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Alternatively, an additional four (4) years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree, totaling twelve (12) years of experience.
  • DoD compliant IAM Level III certification, such as GSLC, CISM, or CISSP (or associate) certification.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance and a current full-scope polygraph.
  • Required knowledge includes system security design processes, defense-in-depth strategies, engineering life cycles, information domains, cross-domain solutions, controlled interfaces, identification, authentication, authorization, system integration, ICD 503, risk management, intrusion detection, contingency planning, incident response, configuration control, change management, auditing, security authorization processes, and Cybersecurity principles (confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, availability, access control), along with security testing.

Essential Skills:

  • Evaluate Cybersecurity measures integrated into systems intended for operational deployment.
  • Draft risk assessments, action plans, authorization recommendations, and associated security authorization documentation.
  • Identify and support overarching security requirements for data protection, ensuring the enforcement of information security policies and controls.
  • Guarantee that Cybersecurity functions are incorporated into the development and risk management processes, particularly those focused on infrastructure protection and defensive IT strategies.
  • Facilitate collaboration with clients, IT staff, and senior corporate executives to assist in defining and achieving necessary risk management objectives.
  • Support the integration of legacy systems within the respective IT environment.
