Position Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Youth Engagement Program Manager is responsible for the development and management of the Centro San Jose (CSJ) Youth initiative, focusing on recruitment, retention, marketing, and community engagement. This role reports directly to the Director of the Early Childhood and Family Center.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and oversee the CSJ Youth initiative for individuals aged 14-21.
  • Lead efforts in attracting and maintaining eligible youth participants.
  • Collaborate with program staff to plan and execute educational and recreational activities.
  • Facilitate meetings with subcontractors and community partners as necessary.
  • Engage in continuous professional development.
  • Represent the Youth Program and Family Center at community gatherings and collaborations focused on youth.
  • Manage the enrollment, assessment, and data tracking of youth participants.
  • Create and distribute outreach materials for parents.
  • Review program documentation (e.g., group activities, attendance, evaluations) and take a proactive role in data analysis and program enhancement.
  • Coordinate the execution of events.
  • Prepare required reports.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • PQI Functions:
  1. Ensure consistent data collection by team members.
  2. Identify trends and patterns in program services.
  3. Evaluate data outcomes against established benchmarks.
  4. Develop and implement improvement strategies as necessary.
  5. Utilize data insights to guide decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred; Associate's degree acceptable.
  • Familiarity with youth resources in the New Haven area.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills are essential.
  • Candidates should demonstrate personal qualities such as enthusiasm, competence, empathy, and warmth.
  • Ability to be firm yet fair, promote self-efficacy, and model positive social beliefs.
  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are strongly encouraged to apply.
