Position Overview: The Area Operations Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of Urgent Care centers across a specified geographic area. This role aims to translate organizational goals into actionable plans that enhance operational effectiveness. You will guide and support the Practice Managers in your region while establishing key performance indicators to ensure the success and accountability of the Urgent Care centers.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • General knowledge of the business principles guiding the daily operations of Urgent Care centers.
  • Aptitude for contributing to business decisions affecting multiple Urgent Care locations.
  • Ability to manage various priorities effectively.
  • Capability to lead and provide direction to a small team of leaders.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoy problem-solving and proposing effective solutions.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a managerial capacity, such as Regional Lead or Practice Manager.
  • A clinical background as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic, or Radiologic Technologist is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Area Operations Manager will lead all Practice Managers and oversee the daily operations of the Urgent Care centers in the assigned region, including all clinical (non-provider) staff.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a medical office setting, with potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions typical of a clinical environment.

Physical Demands:

This role requires a full range of motion, including manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. It involves standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges are necessary. The position may require working under stress or irregular hours and involves some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, salaried exempt position, with an expectation of a minimum of 40 hours per week, requiring presence in multiple Urgent Care centers as business needs dictate.

Travel:

Travel within the designated area is expected for this role, which may include responsibilities at other CareWell centers for leadership assignments, training, support, and meetings.
