Position Overview:

Role: Full-Time Culinary Operations Manager

Location: Worcester, MA

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pm with occasional afternoons/evenings

Compensation: $22-24 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

The Culinary Operations Manager reports to the Catering Manager/Director and is accountable for developing and executing culinary strategies that exceed client expectations within a Senior Living Community. The Manager oversees culinary and financial operations to ensure adherence to service, production, and presentation standards. This role applies culinary techniques to food preparation and manages the final presentation and service of meals. Additionally, the Manager will handle client relationship management and supervise an hourly staff.

Essential Functions:

Culinary Management:

  • Oversee menu development and cost control using appropriate recipes and pricing strategies
  • Manage all catering functions and events
  • Ensure the quality of all food products meets established standards
  • Supervise all aspects of food production, execution, and presentation
  • Oversee catering operations comprehensively

Operational Duties:

  • Receive food and supplies, with the ability to lift items up to 40 pounds
  • Determine production schedules and staffing needs to ensure timely service delivery
  • Maintain company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, and productivity
  • Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Analyze recipes to set prices for menu items based on food, labor, and overhead costs
  • Oversee inventory management
  • Prepare financial reports for corporate review

Team Leadership:

  • Train and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation
  • Deliver excellent customer service by being attentive, approachable, and courteous

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in food service management, particularly in corporate dining
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Certifications:

  • ServSafe Certification
  • Allergen Awareness Certification

Preferred:

  • Culinary School degree or certificate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in Senior Living environments is a plus
