The Reliability Assurance Engineer will contribute to the Mar Controls initiative. This role involves conducting system safety evaluations, reliability assessments, and failure mode investigations necessary for innovative development projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to pinpoint safety-critical components, identify any discrepancies, and propose design modifications.
  • Create reliability, maintainability, and system safety documentation for IPT and client assessments.
  • Execute system safety evaluations in accordance with MIL-STD-882 and SAE ARP4761 standards.
  • Conduct maintainability assessments following MIL-STD-470 guidelines.
  • Perform reliability forecasts as per MIL-HDBK-217 specifications.
  • Analyze customer requirements for reliability, safety, and maintainability, providing RMS/C evaluations.
  • Evaluate and balance cost, technical specifications, timelines, and risks.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

This position is available at various levels, contingent upon the candidate's qualifications, experience, and organizational needs.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of customer-related information.
  • A Secret Clearance or the capability to obtain one is necessary.
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related discipline is essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity within the aerospace sector, encompassing reliability, maintainability, and safety engineering analysis.
  • Experience in new product development within the aerospace or military domains.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Preferred experience in electromechanical design and testing.
  • Excellent documentation and writing capabilities.
  • Familiarity with reliability analysis tools such as Relex, Weibull++, and Reliasoft XFRACAS.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This role is primarily remote, although occasional travel may be necessary.
BACKGROUND CHECKS:

All employees at Bastion must successfully complete a national agency check, with some positions requiring a clearance and extensive background verification.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING:

All employees must pass a pre-employment drug screening; certain contracts may necessitate participation in random drug and alcohol testing programs.

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • All employees must be collaborative team players.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders are essential.
  • Adherence to company policies, processes, and objectives is mandatory.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to safety culture are vital.
  • Organizational skills and effective time management are necessary.
  • The work environment is generally office-based, but may include both indoor and outdoor tasks.
  • Physical requirements may include sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established schedule is crucial.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours and adjust schedules to meet peak demands is expected.
