System Safety and Reliability Analyst

The Reliability & Safety Engineer will contribute to the Mar Controls project as a remote employee. This role focuses on conducting system safety evaluations, reliability forecasts, and failure mode assessments essential for new development initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to pinpoint safety-critical components, identify non-conformities, and propose design alternatives.
- Prepare reliability, maintainability, and system safety documentation for IPT and client assessment.
- Conduct system safety evaluations in accordance with MIL-STD-882 and SAE ARP4761 standards.
- Execute maintainability assessments following MIL-STD-470 guidelines.
- Carry out reliability forecasts as per MIL-HDBK-217 specifications.
- Analyze customer requirements related to reliability, safety, and maintainability, providing RMS/C evaluations.
- Evaluate and balance cost, technical aspects, scheduling, and risk factors.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
This position is available at various levels, and candidates will be considered based on their experience and qualifications.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitive nature of the information involved.
- A Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one is necessary.
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related discipline is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity within the aerospace sector, encompassing reliability, maintainability, and safety engineering analysis.
- Experience in new product development within the aerospace or military sectors is preferred.
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Preferred experience in electromechanical design and testing.
- Proficient documentation and writing capabilities.
- Familiarity with reliability analysis tools such as Relex, Weibull++, and Reliasoft XFRACAS.
- This is a remote position, though occasional travel may be necessary.
All employees must successfully complete a national agency check, with some positions requiring a clearance and an extensive background verification process.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING:
All employees must pass a pre-employment drug screening; some contracts may necessitate participation in random drug and alcohol testing programs.
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
- All employees are expected to be team-oriented.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders are crucial.
- Adherence to company programs, processes, and objectives is required.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to safety culture are vital.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary.
- Primarily an office environment, but tasks may require both indoor and outdoor work.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (90% of the time) and lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally (5% of the time).
- Regular attendance according to an established schedule is critical.
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours and adjust schedules to meet peak demands is expected.
