The Reliability & Safety Engineer will support the Mar Controls contract in Montville, NJ or as a remote employee. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with IPT to identify safety critical items, any non-conformances, and offer design alternatives. Generate reliability, maintainability and system safety reports for IPT and customer review. Perform system safety analyses per MIL-STD-882 and SAE ARP4761. Perform maintainability analyses per MIL-STD-470. Perform reliability predictions per MIL-HDBK-217. Review customer reliability, safety and maintainability requirements and provide RMS/C analysis. Consider and balance cost, technical, schedule, and risk. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED: This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information. This position requires a Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain one. Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field. Must have 3+ YEARS of recent and related work experience in similar role within the aerospace industry which must include reliability, maintainability and safety engineering analysis. New product development experience in aerospace/military industry. Ability to effectively communicate, plan, organize work on one or more projects concurrently. Experience in electromechanical design and testing preferred. Strong documentation and writing skills. Experience using reliability analysis tools like Relex, Weibull ++, Reliasoft XFRACAS. WORK LOCATION: This position is a remote position, but some travel may be required. BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED: All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check, some positions require a clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process. DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED: All Bastion employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs. STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS: Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite. All of Bastion's employees must be team players. Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers. Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives. Must have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented. Must be organized with good time management skills. Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task. Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time). Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
