The Safety and Reliability Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the Mar Controls initiative. This position can be performed remotely. The individual will be tasked with conducting system safety evaluations, reliability assessments, and failure mode analyses essential for new development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to pinpoint safety-critical components, identify non-conformances, and propose design modifications.
- Produce comprehensive reliability, maintainability, and system safety documentation for review by IPT and clients.
- Conduct system safety evaluations in accordance with MIL-STD-882 and SAE ARP4761 standards.
- Execute maintainability assessments as per MIL-STD-470 guidelines.
- Carry out reliability forecasts following MIL-HDBK-217 protocols.
- Analyze customer requirements related to reliability, safety, and maintainability, providing Risk Management Strategies and Cost analysis.
- Evaluate and balance factors such as cost, technical specifications, scheduling, and risk.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
This position is available at various levels based on the candidate's qualifications and the organization's needs.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitive nature of customer-related information.
- A Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one is necessary.
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related discipline is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity within the aerospace sector, focusing on reliability, maintainability, and safety engineering analysis.
- Experience in new product development within the aerospace or military sectors is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Preferred experience in electromechanical design and testing.
- Excellent documentation and writing capabilities.
- Familiarity with reliability analysis tools such as Relex, Weibull++, and Reliasoft XFRACAS is advantageous.
Work Environment:
- This role is primarily remote, though occasional travel may be necessary.
Background Checks:
All employees must successfully complete a national agency check, with some positions requiring a clearance and an extensive background verification process.
Drug and Alcohol Testing:
All employees must pass a pre-employment drug screening; certain contracts may necessitate participation in random drug and alcohol testing programs.

- The work environment is generally office-based, but may involve outdoor tasks depending on specific duties.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods is required, with some lifting of up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Regular attendance in line with an established schedule is critical.
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours to meet project demands is expected.
