The Reliability Assurance Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the Mar Controls contract. This position is focused on conducting comprehensive safety assessments, reliability forecasts, and failure mode evaluations essential for new development initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to pinpoint safety-critical components, identify non-conformities, and propose design alternatives.
- Prepare reliability, maintainability, and system safety documentation for review by IPT and clients.
- Conduct system safety evaluations in accordance with MIL-STD-882 and SAE ARP4761 standards.
- Execute maintainability assessments following MIL-STD-470 guidelines.
- Perform reliability forecasts based on MIL-HDBK-217.
- Analyze customer requirements for reliability, safety, and maintainability, providing RMS/C assessments.
- Evaluate and balance cost, technical feasibility, scheduling, and risk factors.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
This position is open at various levels based on the candidate's qualifications and the needs of the business.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.
- A Secret Clearance or the capability to obtain one is necessary.
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related discipline is mandatory.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity within the aerospace sector, encompassing reliability, maintainability, and safety engineering analysis.
- Experience in new product development within the aerospace or military fields is preferred.
- Proficient in effectively communicating, planning, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in electromechanical design and testing is advantageous.
- Strong documentation and writing capabilities are essential.
- Familiarity with reliability analysis tools such as Relex, Weibull++, and Reliasoft XFRACAS is preferred.
- This role allows for remote work, although occasional travel may be necessary.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.

- Organizational skills and effective time management are necessary.
- The role typically involves an office environment, but may require indoor or outdoor work depending on tasks.
- Work may necessitate prolonged periods of sitting or standing (approximately 90% of the time).
- Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 lbs. may be required (approximately 5% of the time).
- Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is vital.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal hours and adjust schedules to meet peak demands is important.
