Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to join our team at Disability Solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of a new customer project from initial customer engagement to delivery of first production units and hand-off to operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Participate in analyzing and appraising the technical specifications.
- Support technical and commercial assessment and develop project timeline and plans.
- Plan development stages and allocate resources accordingly.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers on a regular basis.
- Utilize software tools to plan schedules and allocate actions as needed.
- Coordinate activities between Engineering, Estimating, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, etc.
- Identify potential risks to delivery schedule and develop plans to mitigate risks.
- Oversee contract reviews process.
- Create and update the overall development file and project schedule.
- Report to Management on progress and particular issues.
- Ensure deadlines are met.
- Oversee project close-out and transfer all lessons learned to operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years project management experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's Degree and/or knowledge of power conversion preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of contract manufacturing requirements and planning.
- Efficient communication: writes and presents effectively, adjusts to fit the audience and the message, strongly gets a message across.
- Negotiation: masters the steps and techniques of the negotiation process, can negotiate skillfully with both internal and external stakeholders, winning concessions without damaging relationships (has a good sense of timing, can be both direct and forceful as well as diplomatic).
- Process knowledge: understands manufacturing processes and assembly flow to effectively drive prototype and first production parts through to completion.
- Drive for results: is able to achieve/exceed (project) goals successfully, makes the right decisions, is bottom-line oriented, steadfastly pushes self and others for results. Has strong skills in project management.
- Equipment/technology process: understands technologies, processes, methodologies, and associated equipment to achieve objectives.
- Transversal management: influences and effectively engages multiple parties, shares information and best practices across different entities, to create synergies for maximum efficiency. Identifies key contributors/competencies and connects them to achieve common objectives.
- Project management: knows and knows how to implement the principles, techniques, and tools used in planning, control, monitoring, and review of projects. To meet business needs, is able to manage all steps of either a single project or a portfolio of projects with interdependencies. Mobilizes and animates the necessary resources for the project purpose.
- Health, safety & environment (deployment): complies with health, safety, and environment procedures within his/her mission.
