FLANDERS ELECTRIC MOTOR SERVICE LLC is seeking to hire an Operations Leader to oversee our manufacturing facility. The Operations Leader will integrate technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities to ensure the consistent production of high-quality products and services. This role will also promote a collaborative atmosphere among internal and external stakeholders.

The Operations Leader is accountable for the overall operational and financial success of the manufacturing site, focusing on achieving annual financial objectives and implementing strategies that ensure a safe working environment, consistent customer quality standards, timely production schedules, and minimal inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and appropriate attire in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Comply with all Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and ISO procedures relevant to the role.
  • Develop an annual operational and financial budget that aligns with the overarching corporate strategic objectives, including detailed action plans to meet or exceed budgetary goals.
  • Create individual Work Cell Action Plans aimed at achieving targeted annual performance metrics, in alignment with monthly reviews and the annual budget.
  • Formulate strategies for each Functional Department to meet targeted annual performance metrics for the plant, aligned with monthly assessments and the annual budget.
  • Maintain a work environment where the safety and health of all employees are prioritized, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the effective recruitment, selection, onboarding, and training processes for new employees.
  • Establish comprehensive plant-wide communication, reward, and recognition programs that foster employee engagement and motivation.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of corporate quality assurance systems and take timely corrective actions to consistently meet product specifications.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports to achieve exceptional performance and prepare them for increased responsibilities.
  • Monitor the operational and financial performance of the plant, taking timely corrective actions to meet organizational goals.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of all corporate policies and practices within the plant and provide feedback for improvements.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Technical Degree preferred but not mandatory).
  • A Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting, particularly in industries such as coal mining, oil and gas, pulp and paper, steel, or plastics.
  • Experience with motors and equipment, including Medium and High Voltage AC Induction Motors, Synchronous AC Motors, DC Motors, and Generators.
  • Knowledge of repair processes, ISO standards, electrical testing, mechanical inspection, AC/DC winding, and motor repair and assembly.
  • Understanding of manufacturing equipment and quality systems.
  • Experience in production control, quality assurance, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with industrial systems, processes, and documentation requirements.
  • Ability to assess manufacturing operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate a vision and strategic direction that resonates with all employees.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills to foster a team-oriented environment that values individual differences and promotes growth.
  • Capability to hold direct reports accountable for high performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Syteline ERP is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong management, leadership, and motivational abilities.
