The Hilton Charlotte University Place is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. As a key member of our management team, the Executive Chef will be responsible for coordinating the activities of and directing the training of cooks and other kitchen employees engaged in the preparation and presentation of quality food at a cost level consistent with management objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct the preparation and presentation of food and beverages in our kitchen.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food production and excellent customer service.
  • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and food preparation methods to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and storage to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, as well as all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service and high-quality guest experiences.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of kitchen staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to kitchen staff to ensure they meet the highest standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve kitchen operations and guest experiences.

Requirements:

  • 7-8 years of culinary experience, preferably in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Proven track record of success in leading and managing kitchen teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to develop and implement menus, recipes, and food preparation methods.
  • Experience with inventory management, ordering, and storage.
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments to ensure seamless service and high-quality guest experiences.

Training Needs:

The successful candidate will require training in providing quality guest service, safety and sanitation certified, management skills training, and culinary arts training.
