Position Summary:

Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental is on the lookout for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager. This role is pivotal in overseeing safety management within the crane and rigging sector, focusing on various environments including commercial construction, petrochemical, steel, wind farm, and heavy industry.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously on multiple projects in a dynamic setting. A bachelor's degree or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the crane and rigging field, along with certifications such as OSHA 30 and OSHA 500, are preferred. This is a full-time exempt role that offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of crane and rigging codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards across branch locations and large industrial sites.
  • Adhere to corporate policies to uphold environmental, health, and safety regulations at company facilities.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of work sites to evaluate operations and identify potential hazards, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Analyze injury and accident reports to identify causal factors and implement follow-up actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Facilitate regular safety meetings with management and staff.
  • Implement established EH&S policies and procedures effectively.
  • Understand DOT compliance and manage driver files accordingly.
  • Disseminate information on safety issues promptly and regularly.
  • Commit to personal and professional development through training and seminars to enhance knowledge in environmental health and safety, crane operations, rigging, and related fields.
  • Maintain effective communication with the corporate office through regular updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 3+ years of experience as a safety manager in the crane, rigging, or construction industries.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
  • Possession of a valid Transportation Worker Identity Card (TWIC) or the ability to obtain one.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and training capabilities.
  • Experience in conducting accident investigations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
