The Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE) is a prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing public health through scientific inquiry. We are currently seeking seasoned research professionals to join our dynamic team. This role is designed for established investigators and evaluators eager to expand their research initiatives while contributing to PIRE's diverse portfolio in areas such as health, mental health, substance use, child welfare, education, criminal justice, and public policy.

Position Summary:

The Prevention Research Center (PRC) operates with a mission to implement evidence-based strategies for health improvement. We are looking for lead research scientists and evaluators who are passionate about driving impactful research and fostering collaborations that enhance community health outcomes. Successful candidates will be expected to independently manage their research projects while engaging with fellow PIRE scientists on shared interests.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute independent research programs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex health issues.
  • Secure funding through grant applications and partnerships.
  • Contribute to the dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations.

Qualifications:
  • An advanced degree (e.g., M.D., Ph.D., J.D.) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of ten years in a relevant research environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead a research agenda.
  • Demonstrated success in obtaining peer-reviewed funding.
  • Ability to work for a U.S. employer.
