Position Overview

The Site Construction Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective execution of daily operations and the planning of upcoming tasks. The responsibilities encompass various activities including earthworks (such as the establishment of access roads, preparation of laydown areas, site clearing, installation of stormwater systems, erosion control measures, and overall site upkeep), pile work (including pile sorting, driving, and remediation), as well as mechanical installations (involving the setup of trackers, slew gears, torque tubes, drive lines, motors, and module installations).

This role necessitates extensive travel across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the Bill of Materials (BOM) and perform material take-offs.
  • Assist the Project Superintendent in formulating site logistics strategies.
  • Generate daily, three-day, and three-week forward-looking documentation for the designated scope of work (SOW).
  • Oversee the daily project documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards (including daily reports, equipment inspections, and manpower scheduling).
  • Collaborate with the Project Superintendent, fellow foremen, and other construction management personnel to establish construction timelines.
  • Possess a solid understanding of construction machinery, including safe operational practices and maintenance indicators.
  • Coordinate equipment requirements and ensure operators are adequately qualified.
  • Identify and communicate any conflicts in construction progress to the project team for resolution.
  • Monitor subcontractor adherence to safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site at all times.
  • Complete daily timekeeping for craft personnel.
  • Supervise the quality control of work performed by craft personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Superintendent.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of verifiable experience with a comprehensive understanding of the heavy civil, solar, or wind sectors.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and performing basic mathematical calculations.
  • Strong organizational skills, including effective time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Capability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, blueprints, specifications, and operational manuals.
  • Certification in Construction OSHA 30 is required.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires the employee to engage in various physical activities including standing, crouching, sitting, bending, and using hands and fingers for handling tasks, as well as reaching in both high and low spaces.
  • The work environment may present moderate to high noise levels, necessitating the use of ear protection.
  • Employees may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
  • Physical demands include lifting or moving up to 10 pounds regularly and frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, or other airborne substances may occur in this role.
