About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Safety Manager to join our team at Southland Industries. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees and contractors on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tour and inspect construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety programs and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct regular safety training and coaching for employees and contractors.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of the project.
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety policies, procedures, and training records.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a safety role in the construction industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as safety, health, or environmental science.
  • OSHA certifications, such as CHST or ASP, are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, contractors, and project managers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
