The Division of Building Design and Construction (DBDC) within the Department of General Services is integral to the planning, design, and execution of public infrastructure projects in Montgomery County. The DBDC is committed to upholding superior performance standards, integrating community input, and addressing both environmental and economic considerations.

  • Oversee the progress of construction and site development for various Capital Improvement Program initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to construction specifications, standards, and quality by contractors.
  • Supervise all new construction projects and significant renovations to ensure timely, effective, and safe execution.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations, testing, documentation, and reporting of construction activities.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in construction or inspection of commercial structures.
  • Knowledge of construction regulations, standards, and building systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction engineering plans and documentation.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Proficient in utilizing computers and relevant software for planning and communication purposes.
  • Experience with construction management software such as BIM360.
  • Relevant certifications or education in construction management.
