Position Overview:

As a Senior Construction Inspector, you will oversee the development and progress of construction projects for various County Government Capital Improvement Program initiatives. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that contractors comply with construction specifications, standards, and quality measures, thereby facilitating safe, efficient, and timely construction of new facilities and significant renovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track construction progress and confirm adherence to project plans, schedules, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform on-site inspections, assessments, and quality evaluations
  • Verify that construction activities meet established standards and specifications
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure project outcomes align with County expectations

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years in construction or inspection of commercial structures, including knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

Education: High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification recognized in the State of Maryland.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with building construction standards and regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in software applications such as MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with construction management tools like BIM360
  • Certifications in construction management
