Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager, Mechanical Engineering to join our team at Stantec. As a key member of our Buildings team, you will be responsible for managing projects, teams, and clients, with a focus on delivering high-quality mechanical engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Successfully manage site, horizontal, and vertical building projects, applying mechanical engineering principles, project management best practices, and superior client service skills to deliver projects that meet project requirements, exceed client expectations, and meet project financial and other objectives.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead multi-discipline resources to meet project requirements within established timeframes and budgets, applying strong mechanical engineering skills, experience, and knowledge to the design and oversight of building projects.
  3. Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge with others by serving as a trainer, mentor, and resource, applying logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into projects.
  4. Client Communication: Nurture existing client relationships and proactively pursue opportunities for new business, developing and delivering project-related client presentations.
  5. Technical Expertise: Apply fundamental understanding of current NFPA 72, 99, 101, and 110, Hawaii State Building Codes, including the State Electrical Code and State Energy Conservation Code, and familiarity with the FGI Guidelines as they specifically apply to healthcare facilities.
  6. Design Integration: Integrate design elements with other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design, applying sustainable design principles within projects while maintaining the process-driven requirements of healthcare facilities.
  7. Risk Management: Identify and manage items of risk that may occur on projects, and identify and manage potential unanticipated scope.
  8. Technical Skills: Possess a strong working knowledge of BIM software, particularly Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 7 or more years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated skills.
  3. Certifications: Professional Engineering license is preferred, and Project Management Professional certification, LEED AP credential, ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP) certification, and familiarity with various construction delivery processes, such as Design-Assist and Design-Build, are also preferred.
Work Environment

This is a typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
