- Resource Management: Manage and plan the production resources and workflow to produce the design documentation, drawings, and calculations required for mechanical engineering projects.
- Quality Control: May periodically act as QC reviewer on projects.

- Business Development: Nurture existing client relationships and proactively pursue opportunities for new business.
- Client Presentations: Develop and deliver project-related client presentations.
- Professional Development: Maintain and expand current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to the applicable project and market types, and continually strengthen skills.
- Training and Development: Proactively pursue additional knowledge in related disciplines by attending available in-house and external training.
- Meetings and Collaboration: Attend and lead in-house project meetings. Actively participate in meetings, initiatives, and projects that support studio and firm-wide goals.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Project Management Experience: Experience managing projects, teams, and clients.
- Leadership and Management: Leading and managing project design and delivery teams; designing HVAC and Plumbing systems for facilities within the built environment. Healthcare, Federal/DOD, and Life Sciences experience desired.
- Client Consulting: Client consulting experience.
- Project Management Principles: Understanding and implementation of the principles of project management.
- Client and Project Management: Ability to manage clients, projects, fee, scope, and teams to achieve budget, schedule, and deliverable objectives while meeting key stakeholder critical success factors.
- Industry Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of the current NFPA 72, 99, 101, and 110, Hawaii State Building Codes, including the State Electrical Code and State Energy Conservation Code. Familiarity with the FGI Guidelines as they specifically apply to healthcare facilities is welcomed.
- Documentation and Communication: Familiarity with, and ability to produce, project-related documents and documentation standards required of a technical and delivery-oriented Project Manager.
- Design Integration: Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design.
- Healthcare Expertise: Deep understanding of healthcare plumbing and medical gas systems.
- Sustainable Design: Familiarity with and ability to apply sustainable design principles within projects while maintaining the process-driven requirements of healthcare facilities.
- Client Communication: Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into projects.
- Risk Management: Knowledge and experience to identify and manage items of risk that may occur on projects.
- Scope Management: Knowledge and experience to identify and manage potential unanticipated scope.
- BIM and Software: Functional knowledge of BIM software; in particular, Revit MEP.
- Microsoft Office: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated skills.
- Professional Certifications: Professional Engineering license is preferred. Project Management Professional certification, LEED AP credential, ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP) certification, and familiarity with various construction delivery processes, such as Design Assist and Design-Build, are preferred.
