The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Specialist to join our team, reporting directly to the Director of Trust & Safety. As a Policy Specialist, you will play a critical role in crafting and implementing policies and operational guidelines to support our content moderation efforts.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Operations, to develop and implement policies that protect platform users. Your strong policy development and implementation skills, combined with your experience in delivering policy training and quality assurance, make you an ideal candidate for this role.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform audits and needs assessments of existing policies to identify gaps and limitations.
  2. Draft policies based on extensive research, including examples of inappropriate content, gray literature, legal journals, academic articles, and contributions from civil society.
  3. Collaborate with partner teams to turn policies into operational guidelines and ensure cross-functional alignment.
  4. Develop policy training materials and deliver policy training to content moderators.
  5. Support quality assurance programs by reviewing policy enforcement for compliance, accuracy, and room for improvement.
  6. Collect and analyze key metrics, such as incoming volumes, action rates, SLAs, quality rates, prevalence, and other critical metrics as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Philosophy, Political Science, or Public Policy.
  • Experience developing content policies and operational guidelines for digital platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of online platforms, content moderation, user behavior analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends in Trust & Safety.
  • Experience training vendor teams and improving SLAs and KPIs with content moderation service providers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with international partners across different time zones and cultures.
