Community Engagement Coordinator Job Overview

Position: Community Engagement Coordinator

Department: Mount Pleasant Community Church

Classification: Part Time, Hourly (20 hours per week)

Core Responsibilities:

The role is designed to enhance the outreach of Mount Pleasant Community Church by overseeing the daily functions of community involvement and assisting the Campus Pastor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and cultivate volunteers for hospitality and group ministries.
  • Establish and uphold standards and best practices in hospitality and group management.
  • Facilitate the integration of individuals interested in joining groups.
  • Oversee the connections process for service opportunities and group participation.
  • Assist the Campus Pastor with planning and administrative tasks.
  • Implement projects and initiatives as directed by the Campus Pastor.
  • Participate in staff and departmental meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional interpersonal management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and retaining volunteer leaders.
  • Experience in ministry within a medium to large church environment.
  • Experience in a multi-site church context is advantageous.
  • Self-driven leader with strong relational skills.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and database management software.
  • Undergraduate degree is preferred.
