Position Overview:
Lycoming College is seeking a dedicated professional to take on the role of Chief of Quality Assurance and Risk Oversight. This position is pivotal in ensuring that our outdoor leadership and educational initiatives meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Program Administration:** Oversee the management and instructional aspects of outdoor leadership and educational programming, ensuring that all activities are inclusive and supportive of our diverse student body.
2. **Risk Management:** Develop and implement comprehensive risk management protocols and serve as the principal risk management officer for all outdoor leadership operations.
3. **Compliance Monitoring:** Ensure that all programs adhere to industry standards, as well as federal and state regulations, and manage necessary land use permits.
4. **Supervision of Staff:** Lead and supervise student employees, including work-study assistants and trip leaders, while managing any external program contractors.
5. **Equipment Management:** Select and procure necessary equipment, negotiating optimal pricing with suppliers and manufacturers.
6. **Program Development:** Facilitate a variety of field courses and trips designed to engage all students, regardless of their unique identities and experiences, including weekday experiences, weekend excursions, and special programs.
7. **Collaboration:** Partner with students, faculty, and staff to create campus-wide programming that fosters inclusivity and a sense of belonging.
8. **Facility Oversight:** Manage all operational aspects of the climbing/bouldering wall, gear room, and bike/ski shop.
9. **Advisory Role:** Provide guidance to student groups with outdoor interests, such as adventure clubs and teams.
10. **Curriculum Development:** Create or approve course content and teaching methodologies for all activities offered by the outdoor leadership program.

Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in outdoor education, recreation, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive program management experience.
- Proven expertise in program design, management, and administration.
- Experience in risk management at both field and programmatic levels.
- High proficiency in various outdoor activities, including climbing, canoeing, skiing, and kayaking.
- Knowledge of student development and outdoor education theories.
