Construction Quality Assurance Inspector

CDR Maguire Inc., a prominent multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is in search of skilled Transportation Construction Inspectors for various upcoming projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to contract specifications by the contractor.
- Engage with contractors, engineers, and job superintendents regarding plans, specifications, materials, and safety protocols involved in construction activities.
- Compile daily progress reports and monitor project timelines.
- Review shop drawings and contractor proposals for discrepancies.
- Maintain detailed records of material quantities and associated costs.
- Prepare and assess contractors' progress payment requests and provide recommendations for payment.
Additional Duties:
- Travel as necessary to fulfill the above responsibilities or as directed by management.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes competence and pride in the organization.
- Perform other relevant tasks as required by the position.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English, with basic math skills for measurements.
- A minimum of one year of experience with PennDOT or two years in transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection is required.
- Four years of experience in highway or bridge construction, or related fields, may substitute for inspection experience, provided completion of twelve web-based TCI training modules.
- A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction may also substitute for required experience.
- A Bachelor's degree in a non-Civil Engineering field, along with completion of the twelve web-based TCI training modules, may be considered as equivalent experience.
Preferred Certifications:
- NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
- NECEPT Bituminous field certification
- ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
- PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
- Experience with ECMS
- OSHA 10-Hour certification
