Job Overview

The Financial Management Specialist at ROSCCO will oversee the integrity of financial data and ensure compliance by maintaining precise records of both accounts payable and receivable, in addition to managing daily financial entries and reconciliations.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • Prior experience in bookkeeping is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with accounting best practices is essential.
  • Strong data entry capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to produce work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Exemplary professionalism and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and accounting for non-profit organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial transaction records by establishing accounts and posting transactions while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Reconcile entries to balance accounts.
  • Manage the general ledger through account summaries.
  • Prepare trial balances and reconcile entries to ensure accuracy.
  • File documents to maintain historical records.
  • Generate financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by studying requirements and advising management on necessary actions.
  • Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as needed.
  • Maintain the trial balance through general ledger reconciliation.
  • Conduct bank account reconciliations to verify transaction accuracy.
  • Prepare financial reports for various programs and quarterly assessments.
  • Keep accurate records, including ledgers, journals, receipts, and invoices.
  • Ensure adherence to internal accounting procedures.
  • Assist the Executive Director in preparing the Annual Budget and addressing other financial matters.
  • Generate and review monthly financial reports.
  • Support the preparation for annual audits.
  • Safeguard customer confidence by maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
  • Collaborate with program coordinators and the Deputy Director to ensure timely submission of program budget requirements for each grant.
  • Perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

Supervision: The Financial Management Specialist will report to the Executive Director and Deputy Director. Regular meetings will be held to discuss reports, proposed changes, and any issues related to financial reporting.


This position is full-time, and compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
