Overview

Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn is a historic and scenic destination that attracts over 200,000 visitors annually. We are seeking a highly skilled Memorial Services Coordinator to join our team.

Job Summary

The Memorial Services Coordinator will be responsible for assisting families in planning and coordinating private memorial services, cremation events, and graveside burials. This role requires collaboration with various cemetery staff to ensure exceptional service.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate memorial services, including scheduling burials and funeral-related event bookings
  • Use database software to create client records, schedule services, and process invoices
  • Communicate cemetery policies and procedures to families, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and cemetery services are coordinated
  • Work with event operations teams to arrange event setups and audiovisual equipment usage
  • Provide audiovisual support during indoor events, as requested by clients
  • Welcome families and guests onsite for memorial and burial services, escorting them to gravesite during services
  • Assist families with other cemetery-related needs
  • Maintain accurate data entry and effective communication within the department
Requirements
  • 3 years of customer service and/or event coordination experience preferred
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with a desire to serve others
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain composure under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-starter with initiative and ability to work independently
  • Comfortable facilitating audiovisual services (livestreaming, video and audio capturing, operating chapel sound systems) during live events
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other databases
Benefits
