The Harvard University Memorial Hall/Lowell Hall Complex is seeking a skilled Event Production Coordinator to join its team. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, overseeing the safe and effective use of event venues.

**Job Summary:**

The Event Production Coordinator will report directly to the Director of the Memorial Hall/Lowell Hall Complex. Key responsibilities include planning events, approving technical scopes, and supervising logistical and technical aspects. The successful candidate will also establish and oversee House Management policies and procedures, manage staff, and train student producers on technical theatre requirements.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Plan and coordinate events within the complex, ensuring smooth execution and crowd safety.

• Approve technical scopes and feasibility for proposed events, collaborating with building users and stakeholders.

• Supervise the logistical and technical aspects of special events, including equipment setup, maintenance, and strike.

• Establish and enforce House Management policies and procedures, prioritizing safety, customer service, and emergency response.

• Manage a team of permanent and temporary staff, overseeing payroll processes and scheduling.

• Train student producers on technical theatre requirements and equipment usage.

• Collaborate with other departments on campus to coordinate summer programs and advise on policies and practices.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

To succeed as an Event Production Coordinator, you should have:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as production management or technical theatre.

• Minimum three years' experience in production management, with direct supervision and team leadership skills.

• Experience operating and maintaining theatrical lighting, sound, video, and basic rigging equipment.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and computer-aided drafting software.

• Knowledge of entertainment/technical theater industry standards, local, state, and national crowd control and technical theater safety codes.
