About the Role

Gallagher Re is a leading reinsurance brokerage firm seeking an experienced leader to drive innovation and growth in our Manhattan branch. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading efforts in treaty reinsurance, collaborating with clients and stakeholders to develop strategic solutions, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support assigned accounts, providing expert guidance and counsel to clients.
  • Conduct research on industry topics and develop content to share with clients and prospects, showcasing Gallagher Re's expertise and thought leadership.
  • Act as the North American representative for global clients, fostering strong relationships and driving business growth.
  • Coordinate information-sharing and promote consistency across client roadmaps and strategy, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
  • Act as production lead for large complex accounts, overseeing the development and placement of reinsurance treaties.
  • Collaborate across all specialties within broking, involving actuarial, catastrophe, and financial modeling partners to analyze insurance risks on a portfolio level.
  • Counsel C-Suite clients on reinsurance treaty structures to mitigate downside risk and improve capital efficiency.
  • Develop, negotiate, and place reinsurance treaties using markets from the US, London, Bermuda, and around the world.
  • Coordinate and attend underwriting and claims audits of insurance clients, ensuring compliance and regulatory adherence.
  • Ensure company, market, and client-related documents are issued accurately and on time, maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
  • Coordinate internal resources, such as analytics, contracts, and client services, to provide solutions to clients and drive business growth.
  • Develop and enhance relationships with senior executives of client companies, presenting materials and showcasing Gallagher Re's expertise.
  • Align with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring compliance and adherence.
  • Commit to the development of early and mid-career talent, fostering a culture of growth and professional development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 10 or more years of work experience within a reinsurance brokerage or underwriting environment.
  • Adept at giving presentations to C-Suite executives, showcasing expertise and thought leadership.
Desired Skills
  • Strengths in practical problem-solving and a desire to innovate in a multi-disciplined, collaborative culture.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Power BI, or other analytics tools, leveraging data to drive business growth.
  • Proven command of mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, applying expertise to drive business results.
  • ARe designation preferred, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the industry.
