Job Description

Cedars-Sinai is a leader in providing high-quality healthcare encompassing primary care, specialized medicine, and research. We are seeking a highly skilled Research Grant Specialist II to join our team in the Department of Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with Principal Investigators to complete and submit federal and non-federal grants.
  • Monitor grant accounts, track expenses, and provide grant and financial reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, federal and local agency requirements, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and local Institutional Review Board.
  • Identify opportunities for research funding and negotiate budgets for clinical trials.
  • Assist with research participant billing and maintain research practices using Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Participate in required training and education programs.
Department-Specific Duties:
  • Create clinical trial budgets and work with research coordinators on post-award management.
  • Work with DOM Manager, Division Directors, and research faculty to provide deficit resolution on sponsored research projects.
  • Create research staffing models and projections.
  • Meet monthly with research programs to review research portfolios.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor of Arts or Science degree preferred.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in administration of research grants.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and solid understanding of federal and major funding agency grant submission guidelines.
  • Experience working with multi-Principal Investigator proposals.
