Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is a key member of our team at Five Star Recruiting and Staffing, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing efficient manufacturing processes to optimize production, improve product quality, and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including the design and implementation of assembly lines, workflows, and production schedules.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with product design teams to ensure the manufacturability of new products and provide input on design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address quality issues and minimize scrap and rework.
  • Manage capital equipment projects, including the selection, installation, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff.
Requirements
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in using CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, for designing and modeling manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles, six sigma methodology, and continuous improvement tools (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, VSM).
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, such as machining, injection molding, and assembly.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in data analysis and statistical tools, such as Minitab or JMP.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
