Internship Program

We offer a 12-week paid internship program, beginning in late May and running through mid-August, which provides students with the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the adhesive industry and collaborate with various departments and functions. Our internship program includes:

Position Overview

This internship is an excellent opportunity for students interested in process safety to gain hands-on experience in a large chemical processing plant located in the United States. As a Process Safety Engineer Intern, you will work closely with the process safety team to identify root causes of deficiencies and implement positive corrective actions. You will also assist in creating operational standard work, leveraging this to improve safety and business performance.

Primary Duties

  • Identify root cause(s) to deficiencies and implement positive corrective action(s).
  • Work to create operational standard work, leveraging this to improve safety and business performance.
  • Work with Manufacturing, Quality, Scheduling, and Maintenance functions to create solutions to process safety issues.
  • Assist in capital and facility planning activities.
  • Assist with facilitating various forms of hazard analysis.
  • Assist with the process hazard analysis and pre-startup safety reviews.
  • Participate in HSE meetings, including incident investigations, cause maps, etc.
  • Provide technical support to the facility's process safety team as well as associated process safety programs and their initiatives.
  • Create and track metrics that are used in a way to identify areas of concerns, improvement programs, address risk/hazards, and ultimately eliminate incidents.
  • Assist in administering the Management of Change (MOC) program.
  • Perform training, lead team meetings, compose, and deliver presentations to various groups at all levels of the organization.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum rising sophomore, junior, or senior in: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

Physical Environment

  • Chemical processing and packaging, including solvent-based adhesives.
