The individual in this position will oversee and guide the technical operations within the facility, collaborating with department leaders to enhance productivity, minimize waste, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
To excel in this role, the candidate must effectively manage the following essential functions:
- Oversee all engineering processes and direct the technical team to ensure timely project execution and efficient problem resolution.
- Maintain operational awareness, providing guidance to enhance production efficiency and overall effectiveness.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for engineering processes, including troubleshooting and documentation practices.
- Facilitate technical communication across departments, offering support and training to technicians to refine processing techniques.
- Assist in adhering to the IATF 16949 quality management system.
- Engage in the introduction of new products and initiatives.
- Implement error-proofing strategies in manufacturing processes.
- Define and monitor critical process control parameters for injection molding operations, including Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Support maintenance processes as required.
- Collaborate with Process Technicians to drive enhancements in processing.
- Minimize scrap during material transitions and color changes.
- Reduce defects in molding processes (e.g., Short Shots, Splay, Color Streaks).
- Enhance machine operational uptime.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications:
The following education and experience are necessary for this position:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the plastics sector.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in injection molding processes.
