Food Product Innovation Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and streamline various projects concurrently, effectively prioritizing tasks from conception to market launch within our software framework.

Support the exploration and advancement of novel and existing product ideas and trends in both International and US markets.

Examine technical documentation and ingredient lists to confirm compliance with specifications.
Conduct a thorough competitive market analysis for new offerings to recommend suitable pricing strategies.
Establish and nurture professional and constructive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Supervise product development initiatives with suppliers during formulation, quotation, and trial phases while adhering to project timelines.
Collaborate with colleagues during internal development processes, including compliance documentation, label assessment, and design.
Facilitate and lead sessions for new product innovation with internal teams.
Evaluate new samples and prototypes for specific attributes while proactively identifying potential issues.
Assess existing products for possible enhancements and initiate necessary improvement actions.
Review long and short copy descriptive materials for precision and appropriate emphasis.
Occasional travel may be necessary.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:


A minimum of 3 years' experience in any of the following sectors with a focus on the food industry; natural products, food ingredients, or personal care sectors in product research and development, merchandising, and brand marketing fields, or a relevant Associate or Bachelor of Science Degree such as a Bachelor of Food Science.

Demonstrated organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Proven experience in developing and maintaining professional business relationships.
Strong mathematical skills.
Proficient computer skills, particularly with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Able to thrive in a team-oriented environment - open to collaboration and adaptable to project modifications.
Self-driven, motivated, and committed to ongoing professional growth.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.



LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and understand instructions, correspondence, and memos, and to write clearly. Capable of presenting in both one-on-one and group settings. Excellent verbal communication skills over the phone in a clear, concise, and professional manner.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To succeed in this role, an individual should possess:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs

Experience with Excel

Strong overall computer skills.
