Position: Facility Operations Supervisor (Full-time)

Role Summary

We are in search of a Facility Operations Supervisor to oversee the New York State Regional Food Hub (NYSRFH), a cutting-edge produce distribution center located in the Bronx. This facility accommodates both GrowNYC's operations and various tenants. The Facility Operations Supervisor will ensure the safe, efficient, and professional management of the premises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management and Maintenance:
    • Proactively manage a comprehensive maintenance schedule for the facility.
    • Oversee on-site vendors, contractors, and suppliers, including security and maintenance teams.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
    • Support GrowNYC's initiatives and tenant operations effectively.
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to meet operational goals.
    • Participate in departmental meetings and presentations.
    • Lead the recruitment, training, and development of building service staff.
    • Ensure compliance with all municipal, state, and federal regulations.
    • Supervise daily operations, including security and maintenance tasks.
    • Manage the facility's budget and oversee construction-related matters.
    • Perform hands-on repair work as necessary.
  • Planning:
    • Collaborate with leadership to align facility operations with organizational goals.
    • Develop emergency response protocols and ensure life safety systems are operational.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant facilities management experience.
  • Experience in warehouse operations is preferred.
  • Proven track record in staff supervision and budget management.
  • General knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on satisfaction.
  • Excellent organizational and vendor management skills.
  • Effective communication abilities across diverse groups.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining composure.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Self-motivated and committed to high standards of performance.
  • Flexible schedule with availability for on-call duties as needed.
  • Professional demeanor with conflict resolution skills.

Ideal Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications or specialized training.
  • Completion of trade school programs.
Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate the facility for inspections.

Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring 35-40 hours per week, with a standard start time. Flexibility is essential for emergency situations.
