Position Information:
The Clinical Services Technician is responsible for collecting pathology specimens at free-standing Ambulatory Care Centers. This role involves registration processing and allocation of laboratory specimens and orders from all sources. The technician must verify proper patient/specimen identification and appropriateness of specimen and accompanying orders. They must also organize laboratory workflow and prioritize processing and preparation of specimens for transport. The technician must maintain a clean and orderly work environment, proper PAR levels of supplies, and remain fiscally responsible to the organization. They must utilize requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems to test, request, accession, correctly label, and package specimens to ensure specimen integrity for delivery via courier to the appropriate laboratory facility. The technician performs specified procedures within the scope of established testing methods and responsibilities. They perform POCT and document routine maintenance and quality control procedures on specified equipment and troubleshoot as needed. The technician manages patient wait times and expectations using available computer systems and clear communication. They demonstrate service excellence by acknowledging customers in a friendly and professional manner, actively listening, responding with empathy, and showing pride in appearance and behavior. The technician updates knowledge, skills, and applies them appropriately. They maintain age-specific and other required competencies as needed. The technician works both independently and as part of a team with general and/or periodic review by supervisory staff. They perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:
1 Year Clinical - Phlebotomist Or Equivalent Education Requirement

Education Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And Graduate Phlebotomy Or Certificate Accredited Institution Preferred

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Phlebotomy Preferred

Hours of Work:
M-F 1:15 pm - 5:15 pm

Weekend Requirements:
No Weekends

Call Requirements:
None
